Job description

As a Design Service Team Coordinator you are responsible within the Design Engineering department for managing all activities that we do not carry out in an Engineering project. It is up to you to work with colleagues to ensure that customers who have concluded an SLA, Service Level Agreement, receive good support from Benchmark.


In this role you are responsible for handling complaints and questions from customers for which we have usually developed a product before. Questions and small projects can be about modifications to a product, cost reduction, components that are no longer available, analyzing production outages, and so on. In this field you are the point of contact for our customers, the factories and the internal account managers.


What you can add

Within this position, the focus will be on ensuring that the implementation of the SLAs runs smoothly. In doing so, you work on continuously improving our service provision. In addition, you create a professional working environment, for example by improving reports, by setting up a ticket system and you work on customer satisfaction. As leader of the helpdesk team, you are often the first point of contact for our SLA customers. You also organize the division of work for the engineers entrusted to you.

How you add value 

  • With your technical knowledge you can properly assess the consequences and urgency of a problem and thus set priorities and initiate actions. This technical knowledge is not limited to your original field, but extends to all disciplines necessary for the product. 
  • Thanks to your commercial skills, you see opportunities for additional work and you are also able to convince the customer of this and offer this in the form of a quotation. 
  • You are also constantly working to further expand the Services of the team, by being the connecting factor between Customer, Engineering and Production. 
  • You have an eye for production problems, the cause of which can be in the product design, you give suggestions for improving the product and process. 
  • You can listen carefully, so you know what is going on with customers and also internally, so that you can offer timely solutions from the Service Team. Being able to switch quickly between assignments and questions is often necessary. 
  • You develop yourself by challenging yourself and learning from possible mistakes.

You have the following tasks 

  • The practical organization of the helpdesk for each of our SLA customers. 
  • You are responsible for responding to and handling complaints within SLA agreements. 
  • You report weekly and consult with our customers. 
  • Co-responsible for planning activities and deployment of engineers 
  • Further develop and maintain the methods and tools. 
  • You perform some of the technical and administrative work yourself, or you prepare it in such a way that others can do it.

We are looking for a new colleague

  • A completed HBO / WO education in the field of electronics.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the field.

What are you good at?

  • The quality to switch quickly and to make decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in product development and affinity with the production of products, so that well-founded suggestions can be made for quality improvements and cost reductions.
  • Some financial insight so that quotations can be issued.
  • Good communication skills, so that the expectations of customers and colleagues are clear to all parties.
  • Preferably some command of the German language.
  • An entrepreneurial, decisive, proactive and result-oriented mindset.
