As a Manufacturing Engineer you are part of our industrialization team, in this case for our medical products. Within this team you are responsible for the design of the manufacturing process, for new products and for changes to existing products. As an Engineer you will do everything to make complex assemblies simple. With your knowledge of producing medical products you foresee the risks that can occur during (volume) production and you try to mitigate these risks. You contribute to an optimal industrialization, which meets the requirements of external and internal customers.
What you can expect: You will work in close consultation with the customer and with your project team. You will act as a technical intermediary between production and customer in industrialization projects. In addition, you are responsible for the supervision of the production process and your goal is to set it up as lean as possible. In order to realize this, you will take care of the validation of the production processes, including training the employees directly involved in order to achieve the best result together with your team.
How do you add value?
You find it challenging to make complex processes simpler and ensure a lean production process without unnecessary actions;
You add value to the product design by giving feedback on possible risks in the making process and can use your knowledge of the medical world to the fullest;
You design intuitive processes whereby the need for work instructions is minimal;
You are constantly aware of the requirements and wishes of your external and internal customers and you strive to meet them;
You stay informed of 'state of the art' production and industrialization techniques and apply them.
You will have the following tasks:
You will receive data packages of the product design, with drawings and parts lists and check them for usability;
You ensure that you understand the requirements and wishes for industrialization and estimate the work required for the quotation;
Where possible you participate in DFMEAs where you identify any risks in the manufacturing process, creating a control plan for risks that cannot be mitigated;
You initiate DfX analyses (Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacturing, Design for Test) that feed back into the product design;
You make proposals for the 'make or buy' decision of products and a concept making process 'value stream map' and thereby map the possible failure modes (PFMEA);
Where necessary you optimize the design of the making process by adding tools and poka-yoke solutions;
You arrange the production systems, for the purpose of traceability and process assurance;
You make a training plan for Operators and provide work instructions for the various process steps;
You create a maintenance plan for the production equipment and finally you take care of the release of the process design.
We are looking for you when:
You have completed a wo-degree in Technical direction (e.g. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering);
You have some relevant (internship) experience in a technical environment;
You have good communication skills in Dutch and English, both verbal and written;
You have knowledge of manufacturing processes and knowledge of APQP or similar standards;
You have a team player mentality with an eye for the logistical and purchasing technical aspects;
You possess an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset.
