As a Strategic Buyer at Benchmark, your added value to our organization lies in managing a supplier portfolio related to specific customer focus programs and products. You are responsible for the suppliers involved and their performance. Based on your analysis and market research, you take the initiative to realize cost savings and implement logistics concepts to optimize material goods transactions.
In addition, in this role you provide functional guidance to 3 or 4 tactical Purchasers. Ultimately, this ensures that you can anticipate and purchase products at the right time, at the right quality and price.
What you can add
In this role you optimize the procurement processes by managing and embedding improvement plans together with other departments or suppliers, in collaboration with the tactical and operational buyers. You participate in periodic customer program reviews (internal and external), by presenting supplier performance and (cost savings) project results. Functional management of a number of Tactical and Operational Buyers.
In addition, you will provide support for material escalations. You continuously update and anticipate global supply market knowledge.
Furthermore, you analyze customer requirements and translate into a customer related procurement strategy/plan to optimize procurement processes and connect with the supplier base.
Finally, you compare quotations and/or company contracts, negotiate on price, delivery times and opportunities, reliability and quality.
