Job description

As a Strategic Buyer your value to our organization lies in managing a supplier portfolio that is related to specific customer focus program(s) and commodities.

You are responsible for the involved suppliers and their performance. Based on your analysis and market research, you take the initiative to realize cost savings and implement logistic concepts to optimize the material goods flows transactions. 

In addition, you give in this role functional guidance to 3 or 4 Tactical and Operational Buyers. Ultimately this ensures that you can anticipate and products at the right time, can buy at the right quality and price accordingly.

  • Optimize purchasing processes by managing and embedding improvement plans together with other departments or suppliers, in collaboration with the tactical and operational buyers.
  • You will participate in periodic customer program reviews (internal and external), by presenting the suppliers performances and (cost savings) project results. Functional control of a number Tactical and Operational Buyers
  • Providing support during material escalations.  Continuous analyze of the global supply market knowledge up-to-date and you’re able to anticipate in this.
  • Analyze the customer requirements and translate to a customer related purchasing strategy/plan to optimize purchasing processes and connect to the supplier base. 
  • Compare quotes and/or corporate contracts. Negotiate price, delivery times and capabilities, reliability, quality, etc.

We are looking for our new colleague with

-  A degree in (Technical) Business Administration at least at Bachelor level. 

-  Someone with a good command of the English and German language. 

-  At least three years of experience in the procurement of mechanics. 

-  Analytical skills and a proactive and result-oriented attitude. 

-  Strong negotiating skills. 

-  Knowledge of working according to established processes and procedures. 

-  The establishment of a team player and good communication skills.
