As an Embedded Software Service Engineer at Benchmark you will be part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team with focus on the maintenance and support of embedded software in high-tech products. The activities vary from solving complex software bugs to design, implementation and testing of new features.

You will be working in an international environment with plenty of opportunities for your personal development.


What you can add

You work in a project team environment and have an important executive role in the detailed design, realization and verification of one or more Embedded Software applications for high-tech products.


You have the following tasks

  • As part a multi-disciplinary team you will work on software problem -analysis & -solving and the design, implementation and testing of new software features in a wide variety of hightech products.
  • This function requires
    • A wide software experience varying from small microcontroller solutions to embedded Linux solutions with QT as a GUI.
    • A quick understanding of the product’s application domain and the product’s architecture.
    • Experience in analyzing, debugging and solving of complex issues.
    • A basic understanding of Electronics and handling of test equipment like oscilloscope and logic analyzers.
  • You will be the technical interface with the customer.
  • You will report your plans and progress to the Service Team Manager.
  • You will work in close cooperation with other disciplines such as mechanics and electronics.

  • You have the drive and the guts to explore with the customers what Benchmark could do even more in the field of Embedded Software;
  • You have the capabilities to eventually fulfill a technical lead role in projects.
  • Finally, you have good oral and written communication techniques for technical product documentation, knowledge gathering, information transfer and instruction.


Job requirements

We are looking for a new colleague with:

  • A completed BSc/MSc education in the field of Technical Computer Science or related.
  • Experience with modern Software Engineering techniques and tooling.
  • 5+ years of experience in Embedded Software development (Micro-controllers, Yocto, etc.)
  • Experience with software development in C/C++, QT/QML and Scripting.
  • Experience in problem analysis and solving.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • You have at least basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering (understanding schematics).
