Software Integration Engineer (C++/Linux)

To support a strategic software migration and integration project, we are looking for a skilled Software Integration Engineer with strong C++ and Linux expertise who enjoys working on complex existing software systems and technical challenges.

The Role

As a Software Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in the migration, integration, and verification of advanced Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer software. You will work within an international engineering team to port software between platforms, implement architectural modifications, validate functionality, and ensure performance requirements are maintained.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys understanding large codebases, solving integration challenges, and improving software quality through structured validation and testing.

You will combine strong software engineering fundamentals with modern development practices, including the effective use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor AI.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand existing C++ software architectures and codebases

• Execute software migration and platform porting activities on Linux-based environments

• Implement software modifications, abstraction layers, and system integrations

• Verify functional equivalence between existing and migrated software solutions

• Develop, execute, and automate software validation and verification activities

• Investigate and resolve integration, performance, and software quality issues

• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

• Collaborate with firmware, software, and system engineers across multiple locations

• Translate technical specifications into robust implementations and validated results

• Identify technical risks and integration challenges early in the development cycle

• Contribute to technical documentation and engineering knowledge sharing

• Apply AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

• Strong professional experience in C++ software development

• Experience developing software for Linux environments

• Proven ability to independently execute software development work packages

• Experience working with large existing or legacy software systems

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities

• Experience with Git version control and CMake build environments

• Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into working software solutions

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, or similar technologies
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python and automated testing frameworks such as PyTest

• Experience with software integration, platform migration, or software porting projects

• Knowledge of signal processing concepts

• Experience with FFT algorithms or DSP-related applications

• Familiarity with SCPI communication protocols

• Experience interfacing software with firmware or embedded systems

• Experience with scientific, industrial, or measurement equipment software

• Knowledge of numerical validation, performance testing, and automated verification
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer systems

• FPGA integration experience

• Knowledge of RF measurement systems

• Experience with Conan package management

• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence

• Dutch language proficiency is desirable
