Project Manager Design Engineering

As a Project Manager in the Design Engineering department at Benchmark, you are the 'CEO of your own business'. This consists of realising projects to the full satisfaction of the client and the internal organisation, maintaining the relationship with the client(s) and generating new business for (existing) customers. Our customer base includes leading companies such as Fluke, Thales, Airbus, Abionic and ASML.

In this role, you will be subject to the PMO (Project Management Office) who will assign you to projects that match your expertise and experience. For project progress, you report to the Program Manager responsible for a particular segment. The segments in which Benchmark operates are; Industrial, Medical, Semicon, Aerospace and Defence. As a Project Manager, you will assemble, manage and support multidisciplinary project teams, including defining tasks, responsibilities and authority.

These projects can run in different phases, from design to production. What are you going to do?

• Responsible for managing the relationship with existing customers.
• Leading quotation processes and providing schedules for (new) customer projects.
• Providing IT management to medium-sized and technically complex long-term projects
• Sparring partner for stakeholders such as subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturing.
• Managing project groups (approximately 5-20 employees) consisting of Design Engineers (electronics, software and mechanics), System Engineers and Technical Leads.
  
  

What do you bring?

• A completed technical bachelor's or master's degree in one of the following fields or similar; Electronics, Software, Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 3 years of relevant work experience as a Project Manager or as a similar role within product development.
• Strong analytical view with the ability to work with complex processes.
• An entrepreneurial, decisive, proactive and result-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills at various levels.
